Vanilla Wafer Cake

My mom found this recipe in the newspaper and it is a huge hit with our family. She has been making it for a few years now and it is GOOD! It is easy to make and is a great dish to take to parties because it can serve several people!
Ingredients:

1 c. butter, softened
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 (12 oz.) box Vanilla Wafers, crushed
1 c. shredded coconut
1 c. chopped walnuts

Directions:

- Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
- Grease and flour a 9" bundt pan.
- In a medium bowl cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Beat in wafers alternating with the milk.
- Stir in coconut and walnuts.
- Pour mixture into bundt pan.
- Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before inverting it onto your serving platter.

Very good. So so SOOO sweet. I forgot the coconut and nuts at the store but was eager to try this so made it without those items, perhaps they cut the sweetness a little I don't know. Very dense and delicious, although mine was stubborn and did not release from the pan (apparently also forgot to flour after greasing!) I will be making it again, with the forgotten steps included but also with only 1 cup of sugar as opposed to 2.

Thanks for posting this recipe! I'm having trouble finding a way to pin this onto my board. I want to remember this recipe for my brother's birthday.
